The family of one of CSI's first grade students was interviewed in this profile of Charter School of Inquiry: “I’m impressed. The different things they offer are so good for kids....There are a lot of good things happening there...The school allows Legend to have more freedom, but she also gets the attention and feedback that she needs. The staff is more hands-on than in the district schools."

Charter School of Inquiry in the Buffalo News

CSI's founders started the Charter School of Inquiry because they wanted to reverse the trend of low literacy (reading) rates among Buffalo's children. Educators say that children must "learn to read" by 3rd grade so they can "read to learn" after that. Reading proficiently and with good understanding is the foundation children need for educational success. Literacy is the Charter School of Inquiry's #1 academic priority.
